Ready to meet your goals?

Meet An Advisor

Answers today, a partner for life

1. Meet with a Cornerstone Advisor

Finances are personal, but you shouldn’t have to manage them alone. We love partnering with our clients to help accomplish their goals. There is no cookie-cutter financial plan and no online calculator that can fully appreciate who you are, what you’ve accomplished, and where you are going. That’s why we begin with listening to you. At our initial meeting and throughout our relationship, we seek to understand your goals, needs, wishes, and fears.

2. Receive Your Comprehensive Plan

After understanding what matters most to you and collecting comprehensive objective information, our team collaborates to build your customized plan. Plans include a net worth statement, goals trajectory analysis, risk management plan, and legacy plan outline. We consider the various planning and portfolio components of your financial life and seek to ensure that everything is structured with efficiency, clarity, and most importantly, with your goals in mind.

3. Implement Action Steps

A plan is only as useful as the execution is thoughtful and thorough. Working with you and your trusted business professionals (CPAs, attorneys, etc.), we put the plan into action. You will no longer have to keep track of things by yourself. When change inevitably comes, we will be there to help. The presentation of your plan is just the beginning of an ongoing partnership.

“Cornerstone takes the time to understand our needs and to help us think through life decisions in a way that is valuable to us.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a fiduciary?

Cornerstone Wealth advisors are registered investment advisors that fall under requirements of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. As a result, our advisors are fiduciaries and must act in their clients’ best interest. Furthermore, Cornerstone advisors who hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation are required to act as a fiduciary at all times when providing financial advice to a client. The Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct for CFP® Professions can be found here.

Are you an independent financial planner?

Yes, through our partnership with Commonwealth Financial Network, an independent broker/dealer and registered investment advisor, we are able to provide best-in-class products and services. Unbound to any big bank or insurance company, we have an extensive list of non-proprietary tools to utilize on our clients’ behalf. Commonwealth provides us access to hundreds of dedicated support personnel with specialties ranging from investment strategy to advanced planning. They also maintain the relationship with our custodian, National Financial Services (NFS), who holds our clients’ accounts and provides the standard reporting (statements, confirms, tax documents, etc.).

Is Cornerstone Wealth fee-only?

No, because we don’t believe that is in your best interest. First, all compensation is fully disclosed at the time of the recommendation. Cornerstone operates under a fee-based hybrid compensation model. We are primarily compensated for our financial planning and portfolio strategies based on a percentage of assets we manage for clients. When prudent and in the best interest of the client, we may recommend a commissionable product (long-term care insurance, for example) that pays Cornerstone Wealth a commission.

What should I expect from my initial meeting?

There is no cost or commitment associated with your interview meeting. After taking time to hear your questions and learn about your goals, we will share about our team, services, and the next steps in a partnership with Cornerstone. While you do not need to prepare anything for this initial meeting, you are welcome to bring any documents you would find it helpful for us to review.

How do I know if I will be a good fit as a Cornerstone Wealth client?

If you are seeking a proactive, planning focused partnership, we encourage you to setup an interview meeting. Your initial meeting carries no cost or commitment. While we do not have an investment minimum, we find our minimum first year fee means our services are most efficient for those with portfolios of $500,000 or more. We would be glad to discuss your specific situation and provide you additional information.
